Reviews

I rate product that I am reviewing on a scale of 1 (the absolute worst) to 5 (the absolute best) with half-increments along the way. The rating I assign to each property is intended to give you an at-a-glance sense of the overall quality.

What the Stars Mean:

Here's how the overall rating ranges break down:

5: Whoooooo!. I absolutely recommend this product.
4.5: Excellent. This is as close you can get to perfection.
4: Fantastic. This product is just about as good as you can get, and highly recommended.
3.5: Super. All-around excellent product that will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
3: Great. This is for products that are excellent in almost every way and whose few setbacks probably aren't that important.
2.5: Very Good. Despite some flaws here and there, this is a solid product.
2: Good. This is for products that are likely worth checking out by fans of the particular genre or by those otherwise interested.
1.5: Mediocre. There's probably a substantially better, similar product out there for you.
1: Well, They Tried. The product has certain good qualities but significant problems as well.
.5: Abysmal. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Skip it and do not pass go.

I make no absolutely no excuses for my ratings for products and believe that my reviews stand for themselves.

Reviews are also done "right out of the package". What this means is that I review what I get - not what I get after hours of painting or preparation other than assembly, in the case of miniatures. Gaming books, boardgames or other similar material will be played a minimum of 5 times before review.

In all cases, photos used are provided from the manufacturer in order to shorten the time between receiving the product and the review itself being posted. Reviews can be updated in the future to reflect painted and assembled product.

Those reviews listed without hyperlinks are for upcoming reviews so that you know what to look forward to in the future.

Finally, in order to stay neutral, 99% of the products reviewed here have been graciously donated by their respective publisher / manufacturer. Dane of War would like to thank each and every one of these generous individuals for their support.
