Mondays, I start work at 0930. That's what I do. Every Monday. Now, imagine waking up at 0700, enjoying your first cup of coffee, and getting called at 0715 hearing that "you need to come in and be a substitute the first two lessons."... and having to rush around and fly out the door to make it to work in a half-hour. That's what happened to me, folks.

Strike one.

On the way to gym class today, I heard 3 students call another (who is black) a "N#**^¤" and watched them jump on him and assault him. 3-on-1.

That, in no uncertain terms, is called a hate crime. I don't care how young they are - they are old enough to know better. I broke up the fight, reported the situation, and does anyone think it was dealt with? No.

In the States, I'm pretty sure this would have been at least a suspension from school. I don't know about the UK or other places. Here, it is apparently perfectly okay to let this happen. It was, in all honesty, all I could do not to throttle those boys myself. This is not a good thing... I really try and be laid back and not all hard-ass with the kids. I know kids are generally young, dumb, and full of cum - but there are certain lines that should not ever be crossed.

Strike two.

Now last (I hope) - have you ever gotten totally frustrated about being in the Games Workshop hobby, but not just because of high prices? Say, perhaps, because of the same completely goddamned stupid questions and arguments all of the damn time on forums?

I bring to you these: "Space Marines are for noobs". "Ultramarines are for noobs". The "my chapter is better than your chapter because" argument with no basis in fact. Or the equally as popular "my primarch is better than your primarch because" argument with no basis in fact. Hell, just recently, there was a guy who actually refused to believe certain events happened in certain books, even when provided with book name, page number, etc... because; for example, it isn't the fluff that he counts as being real. Jeebus on a pogo stick, people are frakking idiots.

How about the questions that could get answered in 10 seconds or less on Google? Like: "Where do I buy bitz?", "What kind of glue should I use?", "What brushes are best?". Oh for feth's sake. Look it up! It takes no brain surgeon to use Google. Hell, if you found a forum to post the damn question on, you can find the answer in less time.

This isn't just once in a while. This is every other day on (as far as I know) every damn forum out there. I honest to Buddha don't know why I even bother.

I know that there is a vast area of idiocy on the internet. It's a part of being on the internet. But sometimes it makes the hobby a little less fun knowing that these are the folks that people think of when they think of wargamers. Some days this really grates on me more than other days, and because there's already been 2 strikes, I call this...

Strike three.

I'm out.
