The Ft. Dix Alien
Summary: In the wee hours of January 18, 1978, several reports of UFOs were made by personnel of Ft. Dix and McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Soon, Air Force security was called to McGuire's back gate to allow the New Jersey State Police entry. One airman on duty that night we shall call Sgt. Jones. He was told that Dix Military Police were chasing a low flying UFO, which had hovered over one of the M.P.'s cars.
Alien Appears Close to MP Car: The account given to Jones would take on another dimension when he was told that an alien looking being with a large head and slim body had appeared right in front of the M.P.'s car, with the startled patrolman shooting the alien several times with his .45 automatic weapon. The alien had managed to get over a fence that separated the two bases before dying on a runway.
"Blue Beret" Take over Scene: Jones and company soon located the body. The area was roped off. Soon, a group of "blue beret" forces took over the scene. Although Jones had been removed from the main investigative group, he was still close enough to watch the action. Hours later, a group of soldiers from Wright-Patterson arrived upon the scene. They quickly crated up the body, and loaded it on their C-141 cargo plane.
Threat of Court-Martial: Jones, along with the solders who accompanied him as the first group on the scene, were strongly warned to not discuss the incident under the threat of court-martial. Jones' group was taken to Wright-Patterson, where they were interrogated, and again threatened with court-martial if they ever discussed what they had seen. Jones would later reveal the names of the interrogators by recalling their names from tags on their clothing, and their identities have been verified.
Jones Sent to Okinawa: Jones would return to McGuire AFB, and again be debriefed. Afterwards, he would hear nothing of the incident again. Soon, airmen involved in the incident were transfered to a base overseas. Jones himself was sent to Okinawa. He would subsequently talk about the incident on numerous occasions, and sign a deposition on the incident. Jones' life would suffer because of his knowledge of this unusual UFO incident, having trouble finding employment in the private sector.
George Filer's Testimony: George Filer (Major, Ret.), of Filer's Files fame, was another witness to some of the events surrounding the Ft. Dix / McGuire alien being. He was stationed as an intelligence officer at McGuire at the time of the incident, and though he was not on duty at the exact time of the occurrence, he heard talk about the "alien body" the next morning. He also saw a lot of unusual activity that morning.
More Details are Released: In 1985, at a MUFON gathering, Jones would relate more details of the alien incident. Though the testimony is copyrighted, I can paraphrase some of the more important details. He stated that the skin of the unclothed being was wet, shiny, and snake-like. The entity would be about 4 foot tall, with a large head, slender body. The overall color was a grayish-brown.
Researcher Len Stringfield (whose contacts in the medical field gave him the first descriptions of the alien bodies allegedly recovered at Roswell) released a document which he received from an employee of the 'Department of the Air Force - Security Police Squadron (PACAF)' in San Francisco, in 'Response for Request of Information in Relation to UFO Contact and Other Related information.' The document contained the following statements:
Investigation Still in Progress: Although the Air Force has deemed Jones' report as a hoax, several well regarded UFO investigators that have come to know Jones well, know better. He has gained nothing from his story, and it has been validated by others. An investigation into this monumental case is still in process. Hopefully, more details will be forthcoming.

The document contained the following statements:
1. In January of 1978, I was stationed at McGuire AFB, N.J. One evening, during the time frame of 0300hrs. and 0500hrs., there were a number of UFO sightings in the area over the air field and Ft. DIX Army camp. I am a security policeman and was on routine patrol at the time. N.J. State Police, and Ft. Dix MP's were running code in the direction of Brownsville, N.J. A state trooper then entered Gate #5 at the rear of the base requesting assistance and permission to enter. I was dispatched and the trooper wanted access to the runway area which led to the very back of the air field and connected with a heavily wooded area which is part of the Dix training area. He informed me that a Ft. Dix MP was pursuing a low flying object which then hovered over his car. He described it as oval shaped, with no details, and glowing with a bluish green color. His radio transmission was cut off. At that time in front of his police car, appeared a thing, about 4FT. tall, GRAYISH, brown, FAT HEAD, LONG ARMS, and slender body. The MP panicked and fired five rounds from his .45 Cal into the thing, and one round into the object above. The object then fled straight up and joined with eleven others high in the sky. This we all saw but didn't know the details at the time. Anyway, the thing ran into the woods towards our fenceline and they wanted to look for it. By this time several patrols were involved.
2. We found the body of the thing near the runway. It had apparently climbed the fence and died while running. It was all of a sudden hush-hush and no one was allowed near the area. We roped off the area and AF OSI came out and took over. That was the last I saw of it. There was a BAD STENCH coming from it too. Like AMMONIA SMELLING but it wasn't constant in the air. That day, a team from WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB came in a 0141 and went into the area. They crated it in a wooden box, sprayed something over it, and then put it in a big metal container. They loaded it in the plane and took off. That was it, nothing more said, no report made and we were all told not to have anything to say about it or we would be court martialed.
3. I will be getting out of the air force in about two months. Do Not disclose my name as I could get into trouble. I am interested in pursuing this and other matters if you need help. Forgive me for not signing this but I can't take any chances. Please reply to the above address and my parents will forward it to me or I will be home already. Don't send it here because they monitor all mail closely and I again don't want to take any chances.

He has gained nothing from his story, and it has been validated by others. An investigation into this monumental case is still in process. Hopefully, more details will be forthcoming.
