Maiwand: 27th July, 1890 is a Dennis L. Bishop simulation of the battle of The Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878-1882). A British force under General G.R.S. Burroughs was dispatched with 2,500 troops to Maiwand, about 50 miles Northwest of Kandahar, to oppose an advance on Kandahar by Ayoub Khan, who was leading about 25,000 troops. First published in 2005 by Kyber Pass Games, this new Print-n-Play release features new and improved counters, a variant scenario and an historical article on the battle by Tom Cundiff.
